Dex Fernandez (b. 1984) is an interdisciplinary artist based on Caloocan City, Philippines. Drawing from street art and found footage, his practice ranges from paintings and drawings to murals, mixed media, animation and zines. Fernandez is known for his eclectic figurative images that are inspired by pop art, religious iconography, children’s drawings, tattoo motifs and cut-outs from adult magazines. His work has been exhibited at Palais de Tokyo (France), the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Jeonbuk Museum of Art (Korea), and more recently, the 2016 Singapore Biennale.
