Filippo Sciascia

Based in Bali, Indonesia for almost 20 years, Filippo Sciascia (b. 1972, Italy) is fascinated by the way society absorbs and understands the production and consumption of images as a form of reality. Working in various media, his practice deals with visual perception and explores tensions between reality and representation, painting and imaging technology. Sciascia’s concepts and subjects are neither Italian nor Indonesian; they are universal, based on a deep common knowledge that has been around for thousands of years. His work has been exhibited across numerous cities in Italy, UK, USA, Singapore and Indonesia.
