Lucas Grogan’s (b. 1984, Australia) practice spans multiple disciplines including, drawing, painting, sculpture and embroidery. Working through an autobiographic lens, he explores themes such as identity, sexuality, shared humanity, spiritual divorce and isolationism, using techniques both traditional and radical to develop psycho-spiritual drawing, painting and needlework that is at once attractive and off-putting.
Grogan is collected by the National Gallery of Australia, and has created murals in in cities throughout Australia, Bali (Indonesia) and Miami (USA). He has collaborated with popular brands and musicians, such as Chet Faker
and Big Scary.
