Dean Cross speaks to Jo Higgins about his work, Cataclysm
29 Jul 2021
In this conversation, Dean Cross ventures more into detail about his work, Cataclysm.
Cross describes himself as a ‘paratactical’ artist. This made up term is an extension of ‘parataxis’ – a literary technique that favours short, simple sentences that can still be read even without conjunctions, just as how Cross demonstrates in his works. Cataclysm is part of a larger installation in his exhibition Icarus, my Son, and contributes to the foundation of the exhibition.
Dean Cross’ ongoing exhibition Icarus, my Son, at the Goulburn Regional Art Gallery is on view from now until 28 August.
